Rabbi Mottle Wolfe

Reb Mottle is an engaging teacher as well as a talented musician and storyteller. He has a popular podcast on iTunes. Reb Mottle’s passion for Jewish Mysticism, joyful, and experiential Judaism has made him a sought after speaker around the world. He lives in the Hills of Judea outside of Jerusalem with his wife and three children.



Rabbi Aaron Leibowitz

Rav Aaron has been an innovative Jewish educator in Israel for over two decades. It is Rav Aaron’s belief that Torah must be both transcendent and grounded that led him to found Sulam Yaakov, a leadership training Beit Midrash which has ordained over twenty rabbis to date. This unique institution, which gives special attention to the individual’s spiritual process and inner world.

In 2010, Rav Aaron launched Shirat Devorah a beginners programs for women. These programs are designed for the whole person – they are intellectually and spiritually challenging; promoting an integrated growth process through which the student is empowered to chart his/her own path in Jewish life. 2011 saw the launch of Threshold, an accelerator for Jewish Educational Entrepreneurship. All programs are operated by HaOhel Institutions, the Jerusalem branch of Yad Yaakov, promoting “Open-Tent Judaism” in the Nachlaot neighborhood of Jerusalem.


Yaakov Dov Miller

Musical Director
Yaakov Dov is an talented musician and performer. He has shared the stage with nearly every major act in the world of Jewish Folk Rock. He has led group singing at Jewish Retreats and events for many years and is the musical director of the annual Shlomo Carlebach Yahrtzeit concert in NYC.


Emuna Witt

Emuna Witt is a Jerusalem institution. She has been delighting audience and inspiring souls for over 30 years in Jerusalem’s quaint Nachlaot neighborhood where she has raised her 14 children. Emuna is one of the top students of late Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach zt”l, and it was from him, that she credits her spellbinding blend of warmth, joy and inspiration.


Yehuda HaKohen

Alternative Peace Activist
Yehuda HaKohen is an Israeli alternative peace activist and history teacher at several Jerusalem institutions. Born and raised in Manhattan, Yehuda made aliyah in 2001 to enlist in the IDF at the height of the second Intifada. As director of the Alternative Action movement, Yehuda organizes grassroots Jewish-Arab dialogue sessions and has dedicated himself to the struggles for justice, peace and indigenous rights in the Middle East.


Ali Schechter

Shalom Shanti Women’s Yoga Instructor
Ali Schechter is a NYC-based yoga instructor, dancer, and choreographer. She holds a BA from Columbia University in Dance and English. In 2009 she completed her 200-hour teaching certification at Om Yoga Center. Ali is currently studying at the Iyengar Yoga Institute and teaches a fundraising yoga class at Congregation Beit Simchat Torah. She is thrilled to be a part of this Inward Bound retreat, and curious about how the traditions of Judaism and Yoga can inspire and inform each other.
