Gay and Orthodox?


Mottle is joined by Mordechai Levovitz — an Orthodox Jewish gay man, who co-founded and is the executive director of Jewish Queer Youth — to discuss the challenges of homosexuality in the Orthodox world, and the strides towards inclusion that the Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender (LGBT) community is making on that score. He also talks about “Faith, Desire and Psychotherapy,” a recent conference at Columbia University featuring four prominent Orthodox rabbis, which marked the first time rabbis and mental-health researchers engaged in a public discussion about homosexuality and Orthodoxy.
