The Mottle Wolfe Show on Voice of Israel
VOI’s Mottle Wolfe discusses the story of a young woman whose suicide has caused a stir and a controversy.
The tale of Faigy Mayer, the formerly Orthodox woman who jumped to her death from a 20th floor rooftop bar in New York City, has ignited a firestorm of finger-pointing. Mottle discusses whether criticism in a case like this is valid.
Former SNL star and talk show host on 970 the Answer, Joe Piscopo, invites Mottle onto his show to talk about the Iran Deal.
Mottle Wolfe is joined by Chaim Levin and his lawyer, Sam Wolfe, who just won a suit against ‘reparative therapy.’ Levin, a gay man, sued JONAH — Jews Offering New Alternatives for Healing — an organization that promised to help him become straight through therapy. He and fellow plaintiffs claimed that the therapy was abusive and that there was no actual scientific data to prove it successful. A jury agreed and awarded him damages. He and his attorney, from the Southern Poverty Law Center, discuss the case, and Levin’s experience with “reparative therapy.”
“Part of the journey of leaving the Haredi world is learning what to take with you and what to throw away.”
Shulem Deen joins Reb Mottle to speak about leaving behind his black hat, beard and ultra-Orthodox Jewish life for the sake of seeking the truth, and what he found on the other side.
In a musical moment, Mottle tells the heroic story of the raid on Entebbe and the famous ‘niggun’ that was born from it.
